Jermain Tamraz - Freedom (1980)

Artist: Jermain Tamraz Album: Freedom Location: Iran Genres: Assyrian Pop Year Released: 1980 Date Refound / Posted: Found by Melramos2, 2020-03-30 Format(s) Released: Cassette Explanation:  Jermain Tamraz is (in the west), an obscure pop star from Iran. She is also known as one of the most successful Assyrian singers of all time. Other than that, information on her is scarce. This release was one of the few albums she released while active.  Reasons for Disappearance:  With her music being from pre-revolutionary Iran and her last known location as the US, it is likely she fled during the revolution and her music destroyed in the ensuing chaos. I remember reading a bit of who this guy was years ago but I can't find that source anymore.  I was drawn to it for the black-and-white cover, lo-fi appearance and the title. Earthly Realm Music? Sounds like some dungeon rap stuff. It wasn't. It was your average run-of-the-mill lo-fi backpacker stuff from the late 90s/early 2000s. I love the stuff when I'm in the mood for it and this ended up being decent.  Reasons for Disappearance:  Like other artists on this site, AED was never really well know...
