I realize this blog has been mostly dead for months now though I've been trying to revive it, or at least figure out what the plan is going forward. I'll spare all the deliberations. I'm going to try and post more regularly going into the New Year. No more formalities like when a release was lost or whatnot I have decided to just post whatever lost releases I come across and add them to the Internet Archive.
The only thing I'm still on the fence about is if I want to add NFOs to the releases and fully embrace the warez aesthetic. While I still figure that out I am going to at least post something here that means a lot to me.
Manzanita is a jazz band from San Diego, USA consisting of Tommy Aros, Kelly Jocoy, NAthan East, Peter Sprague, Rob Schniederman, Mark Lessman and Tripp Sprague. In 1979 they released one private-press album called Pirate Lady and never really saw an distribution beyond that. The album has been out of print for over 40 years and Manzanita as a band has not been active since 1979 either. This album is not available on any streaming services and it is a mystery where all the band members are.
I originally found out about this band from just searching random things on RYM, finding artists with brags (as in artists with brackets in their name) and updating the page. The cover art just interested me.
Anyways, it's a pretty good Jazz Fusion album with a very relaxed sound.
